Lings Primary School opened its Pre-School in January 2019.  We have space for 24 children - each child is allocated to a key worker, who works in partnership with parents and carers to make sure that every child meets their potential. Our aim is to offer a happy, enjoyable and stimulating environment for your child. Our pre-school wants to give your child the opportunity to grow and learn, preparing them for their next steps into school life. 

We are based within the grounds of Lings Primary School; we have a fantastic inside and outside environment in which we facilitate exciting child-led learning. We form strong links with the school and we work closely with the Reception class and their teachers, enabling a smooth transition into school.

We have places for children once they reach their third birthday and offer the government-funded entitlement of 15 hours free childcare each week during term time, starting the term after your child’s third birthday (Universal Funding). You may also be entitled to an extra 15 hours of free childcare per week (Extended Hours Funding). Please follow the link below to check your entitlement. 

If you are eligible for the Extended Hours Funding, you must apply and have received your entitlement code during the month before the term starts. You must then re-check your eligibility every three months and advise the school office of the code given. 

If you are not entitled to Extended Hours Funding, but would like your child to attend more than 15 hours per week, you can pay for the additional sessions at a cost of £18.50 per session providing that there are sessions available.

• Monday to Friday 8.45am to 3.15pm
• Morning sessions 8.45 am to 11.45am
• Afternoon sessions 12.15pm to 3.15pm
